Let me introduce you to Kate

In April I launched an eight-month series in which I discuss the coaching journey of eight of my clients. My intention with this series is to demonstrate the amazing benefits of coaching through the sharing of some real-life examples. For my fourth coaching story, I’d like to introduce you to Kate. Kate had worked for Nestle for many years. She was experienced, successful and an established member of the Nestle Professional Leadership Team. Kate had been invited by her company to take part in a year-long Leadership Programme, but Kate was frustrated with her progress and was struggling to dig deep enough to challenge her own thinking. Kate was not used to introspection or comfortable talking about herself on a deep level. Kate was on a quest to develop her AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP style and wanted to be able to understand and articulate her VALUES. Coaching provided Kate with STRUCTURE and dedicated TIME for her personal development. It provided Kate with the depth of enquiry to ensure that she didn’t just settle for the first answer that came to her. Through this process, Kate grew in CONFIDENCE and became much more COMFORTABLE talking about herself. When Kate now speaks up she recognises the message she lands is her own and not what she thinks people want to hear, as in the past. Kate now leads from her AUTHENTIC SELF, aligns with her personal VALUES, and has the COURAGE to speak from the heart. Let me know what you think of Kate's story and if you see a reflection of yourself in it. Justin

Let me introduce you to Nadine

In April I launched an eight-month series in which I discuss the coaching journey of eight of my clients. My intention with this series is to demonstrate some of the amazing benefits of coaching through the sharing of some real-life examples. For my third coaching story I’d like to introduce Nadine. Nadine was a Director working for a Tier 1 Investment Bank and approached me to partner with her as a coach at a pivotal point in her career. Nadine was experiencing a very toxic working environment and struggling with a particularly challenging egotistical manager, as well as a newly appointed senior management structure. Nadine was also trying to protect a team she had built and nurtured. Nadine was the main breadwinner in her family. Nadine needed to consider her next career move very wisely. Any of this sound familiar to you? On top of all of this, Nadine had a clear vision to become the Calm, Logical & Pragmatic leader that she aspired to be. Through a coaching PARTNERSHIP Nadine was able to successfully navigate through a difficult career transition and embark on a programme of self-development by using the power of CURIOSITY and SELF REFLECTION. - A coaching PARTNERSHIP to help navigate her way through the toxicity and drama - CURIOSITY to question and challenge her status quo (her own truth) - SELF REFLECTION to challenge her own limitations and triggers. This provided Nadine with the CLARITY she needed to make clear informed decisions and become the Senior Leader she aspired to be. Let me know what you think of Nadine's story and if you see a reflection of yourself within it. Justin

Let me introduce you to Rachel

Last month I launched a new eight-part series in which I discuss the coaching journey of eight of my clients. My intention with this series is to demonstrate some of the amazing benefits of coaching through the sharing of my real-life examples. For my second coaching story, I’d like to introduce Rachel. Rachel came to me as a busy working mum who was juggling family life (two boisterous boys), managing a busy house and holding down a full-time career as an accountant whilst working from home during lockdown. Rachel was struggling and overwhelmed with her work-life balance, experiencing some anxiety and was also witnessing her short behaviour in her two boys. Rachel wanted to set the best example for her boys and create some drastic changes in her life that aligned with her true purpose and values. Rachel, a self-confessed perfectionist, was desperate to make some conscious life choices and create true balance in her life, create more time for herself and her passions, and allocate special time for her family. What Rachel needed from coaching was a conscious MIRROR and a space to be LISTENED to without judgement. - A MIRROR to show her a true reflection of herself so that she could continue to grow and thrive. - A safe space where she could explore her deepest thoughts and emotions, and be truly LISTENED to. This provided Rachel with the courage to make the necessary work/life balance changes, to create the balanced life that she craved. Let me know what you think of Rachel’s story and if you see a reflection of yourself within it. Justin

The 6 core influencers

Earlier this month I discussed the importance of our immediate environment and how this can affect our energy, motivation and performance. In my latest video, I take this a step further by introducing the 6 Core Influencers (or Outer Blocks). These Influencers (described below) are spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, social, and environmental that can either work for you or against you. The factors that influence your energy, motivation and performance will vary from person to person, and sometimes, from situation to situation. The 6 Core Influencers: Spiritual - Linked to the alignment of your purpose, beliefs, values, gifts, desires, goals, etc. Mental - Involve your clarity as to what you’re doing and your ability to remain focused on performing without being distracted. Emotional - How well your needs and desires are being met by what you’re doing, how excited and enthusiastic you are about doing it. Physical - The awareness of what your body is telling you, how proactive you are in taking care of your physical self (eating, exercising, sleeping). Environmental - Creating the optimum environment that allows you to complete or enjoy the task you’re about to do. (Space, Lighting, Clothes). Social - Having the “right” amount and type of interaction with others and feeling supported (like-minded people, culture, individual space, teamwork). Take a moment to consider these 6 Core Influencers. Also, think about a task you are performing today, and how you can make some minor adjustments to optimise your energy, motivation and performance. As always, let me know your feedback on the video and how your environment affects your behaviour. Justin
